Sydney’s Warwick Farm Racecourse will come to life on Saturday afternoon as it plays host to three Group races including the exciting $125,000 Group Three Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m).
The 2010 Silver Shadow Stakes marks the return of several potential spring stars to the track, with 17 three-year-old fillies nominated for the race.
One to surely top the odds at Ladbrokes.com.au will be the $125,000 San Domenico Stakes (1000m) winner Obsequious. The Peter Snowden-trained filly was superb at Randwick, defeating Solar Charged which is also nominated for the 2010 Silver Shadow Stakes.
One which will surely be another favourite among the early betting at Ladbrokes.com.au will be Gai Waterhouse’s More Strawberries. The More Than Ready filly is likely to see Glyn Schofield take the reins in the feature, hoping to guide the lightly raced three-year-old to her maiden Group win.
Winner of the $200,000 Group Two Silver Slipper Stakes (1400m) in February Chance Bye is another potential victor this Saturday.
The daughter of Snitzel suffered a leg wound and regular jockey Kathy O’Hara has found a boot to cover the area – although it has not been confirmed yet as to whether it will be allowed or not.
Peter Moody has the lightly raced filly Miss Gai Flyer nominated for the 2010 Silver Shadow Stakes. Over the course of her four-start career the Flying Spur filly has won twice amounting $128,388 in prizemoney.
