Omei Sword is reportedly in top condition leading into her competitive return and subsequently remains a clear $2.80 favourite in 2016 Silver Shadow Stakes betting markets with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au.

Trialling well in the lead-up to her competitive debut, Omei Sword immediately stamped herself as a filly to follow with a strong performance for success in the Peter Svendsen Maiden (1100m) on February 24th.

Making a strong progression to black type company when second in the Group 2 Magic Night Stakes (1200m) on March 12th, the High Chaparral filly returned to the paddock after failing to fire and ninth in the Group 1 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) on April 2nd.

Omei Sword is drawn ideally in barrier 5 with Brenton Avdulla aboard and should prove tough to beat with only 55kgs in tow.

Manaya is yet to herald much interest in 2016 Silver Shadow Stakes betting markets but remains a $3.70 second-favourite for success.

Producing a number of smart barrier trials prior to her competitive debut, Manaya was settled at the rear of the field in the Listed Woodlands Stakes (1100m) on debut in May but produced a huge turn of foot to win the race by close to two lengths.

Glyn Schofield has picked up the ride on the Hinchinbrook filly, who will leave from barrier 6 in the Silver Shadow Stakes.

Godolphin filly Calliope ($4.50) interestingly figures as the only other runner currently available at 2016 Silver Shadow Stakes odds of less-than $10.

Calliope debuted to racing for a dominant win in the Listed Gimcrack Stakes (1000m) at Randwick in October and was immediately put away with a view towards the 2016 Autumn Carnival.

Resuming for fifth in the Group 2 Blue Diamond Prelude F (1100m) on February 13th, the daughter of Exceed And Excel won the Magic Night Stakes but failed to handle the late pace when twelfth in the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m) on March 19th.
